Hum...just noted that for Step 4 is mandatory to rebuild the package associating it on the EndPoint. At this moment, you will need to rebuild the package by downloading the code and modify that setting. I will try to see if this can be automated for the next release. Creating WI.

About a week ago the accelerator runs perfect but when I tried to run it again at 01/29/13, there was no package listed for selection at the "Accelerator deployment packages" phase.

I've already unzip the accelerator again and the problem still happening.

This is because only packages for RDP support were included in the distribution. Please, enable RDP or just build your own package by downloading the source code.

Actually no, and is a very good feature. In fact, this is something I would like to enhance by adding a more general feature like completely customize the IIS settings and persist them on recycle. Different approachs:
* by specifying a file for appcmd.exe, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772200(v=ws.10).aspx,
* by creating configuration scripts with the IIS configuration manager and applying them, see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/video/iis-75-configuration-editor-windows-server-2008-r2-demo-screencast-2-of-5.aspx

I'm going to create a work item for this. Remember to vote the feature!!!

Created Feature: Allow multiple SSL bindings [1192]

Perhaps what will be more difficult to setup in the accelerator is to have multiple SSL certs mapped to the same site. This is not currently supported but is a feature that with high probability I will include in a coming release (in fact, I'm going to create a work item just now).

DotNetNukeAccelerator 6.3
Windows Server 2012 x64

On executing the DNNAzureWizard.exe I am shown a dialog stating
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

On clicking "OK" the wizard start page is shown
On clicking Next the Deployment Type Settings are shown - however, the Subscription box is unpopulated with "Any" entries - so I can not load my subscription publish settings file.

Closed Issue: 404 Error when Selecting Subscription Refresh [1179]

Getting the following 404 error when selecting "<Refresh...>" from the subscription drop-down in the Development Type Settings step of the wizard:

404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

I have a valid (and brand new) Azure account...but obviously can't log in and get past this step.

seems you are not using the latest version since the "Refresh" option was discontinued on version 6.3. This is from the 6.3 release notes:

- Changed the way to import the publish settings file: discontinued the automatic download while refreshing the subscription data, you have to manually download and import the file in the wizard.

Hi Daryl,

I'm just working in a command line tool to make this process more easy (the command line tool will be called by a future admin web app published on the default site of the webroles, that will serve management utilities). The summary of the process should be:

1) Create a resized VHD of the current served VHD: the command line tool will do it on this steps automatically:

Create a snapshot of the current VHD and mount it locally on the SMB server for read only (i.e. Drive W)
Create a new empty and resized VHD and mount it locally on the SMB server (i.e. Drive Y)
Copy the contents from drive W to drive Y
Unmount drive W and Y, and delete the snapshot created on step 1

2) Deploy on staging: deploy on staging the DNN Azure accelerator package. The service configuration file targets the new resized VHD

3) VIP Swap: push the button "Swap VIP" to change the Virtual IPs (production-staging)

This approach should:

Ensure No downtime: the VIP swap ensures the all the web requests will be served and no downtime;
Ensure No data loss: as the copy-contents process is an standalone process and the risk of using node's local storage disappears (my advice is if you are copying things to the node's local storage, download a copy of the zipped contents to another location)

The command line tool is very easy to create. I'm thinking on the creation of this an more tools that will be available at "X:\utils" folder on the VHD. I'll create a workitem for this and put it on the roadmap.

The research done by Maarten Balliauw seems to be the definitive solution for resizing the VHD (read this post http://blog.maartenballiauw.be/post/2013/01/07/Tales-from-the-trenches-resizing-a-Windows-Azure-virtual-disk-the-smooth-way.aspx)

Going to include the feature on the Accelerator this way.

In order to save resources, a good feature would be to allow hosting more than one DNN instance in the same deployment. Things to consider:

* Create multiple websites in IIS, depending on the configuration settings:
* * Different databases
* * Different VHDs (or same VHD, different folder)
* Maintain in sync the DNN portal alias with IIS websites automatically

HTTPS is working since DNN Azure Accelerator 6.2.3 (see http://dnnazureaccelerator.codeplex.com/discussions/359504 for more info). Still pending the UI for these settings.

I am currently recieving a 404 error when trying to refresh my subscriptions under the "Deploy DotnetNuke on Windows Azure Automatically" option. I am currently part of the new portal preview so I am not sure if this is the cause of the 404 error.
